Welcome!
What's in it for you?  A connection, some challenges, a few questions to encourage you to simply reflect about how you live your life versus how you want to live your life.  Feel free to share the answers with me:  I'd love to hear from you.  This is an invitation to focus on where you'd like to change and grow.

IN THIS ISSUE:

1.  PERSONAL LIFE COACHING:
Your Life-Altering Experience

2.  FOOD FOR THOUGHT AND THOUGHTS ON FOOD AND WEIGHT LOSS
Why Coaching for Weight Loss?

3.  THOUGHTS FROM MY SWING:
I'm Working at it

1:  Your Life-Altering Experience

How many of us live our lives in the land of "someday and one day or next time"?   Someday I'll change jobs.   One day I'll clean that cupboard.  Next time I'll speak up when I get stepped on, mistreated or ignored.   Next time I'll say no.  One day I'll trade carrot sticks for cupcakes.   Someday I'll take advantage of the opportunity.  Next time I'll go for a walk, run, exercise class, swim or dance class.   One day I'll make time to meditate.   Someday I'll be more organized, conscientious or efficient.   Next time I'll be more relaxed, accepting or gentle with myself.  Any bells ringing?

Sad to say that for many, the intentions remain intentions for life.   And sadly, the individual who is successful at changing how they live life is often one who experiences a bitter or challenging Life-Altering experience.   The death of a loved one or a physical injury are just two examples of life's powerful teachers.

So here's my question for you.   "Why wait?" Seize this opportunity of extra mindfulness and gently turn the intention into initiative so you step closer to living your life according to personal values and dreams.   Why wait for the universe to create that Life-Altering Experience when you have the power to tailor your own?

Here's how to get started:   Write down 5 pieces of your life that are unsettling and they don't need to be big!  Choose one.   Write down a step you can take to improve it and give yourself permission to be realistic.   Write down a date by which it will be done.   If you choose to do so, email it to me.   I'll follow up with you a day or 2 after the date, caringly and tenderly.

If you've never had a complimentary, no obligation coaching experience, call or email now!   Enjoy the luxury of a listener with no agenda and get help to design your baby steps to a new chapter.

2:  Why Coaching for Weight Loss.

I once heard a woman say, "It's easy to lose weight.   I've lost hundreds of pounds in my life." Perhaps those words could have come out of your mouth.   It seems that losing weight isn't difficult for some people; but, maintaining the weight loss is monumentally challenging.   I suspect that you don't need a review of fad diets, many of which are effective for losing weight.

What you really want and need is a magic wand.   After losing the weight, when you return to the habits that did you in, in the first place, a simple touch of the wand to the troublesome bulge will look after it.   Abracadabra!   It's gone.   Wish I had the wand:  I'd happily share it with you.

The key phrase in the preceding paragraph is "when you return to the habits that did you in, in the first place".   THAT is why coaching is so effective for weight loss - both immediate and long term.

Coaching helps you learn the strategies to change a lifetime of habits.

Excuse me.   I can't resist.  Try it you'll like it!

3:  I'm working on it

A friend and I were at the bank on behalf of an organization that we co-lead.   The bank had been alerted what had to be done.   We had been told it was a simple 15 minute procedure.

45 minutes later, as we left the bank, my friend happily said, "Wasn't she (the bank employee) lovely?" when all I could think of was my frustration and how inefficient and inadequate she was.

The employee was indeed lovely.   Why could I not focus on the positive instead of the negative?   I believe I'm a "glass half full" not "glass half empty" girl.   My conscious self looks for the upside of life.   But deep in my gut must live this element of pragmatism that focuses on a place that really doesn't serve me.   I'd love to be able to first recognize the positive and then acknowledge the negative without the emotional component.

Coaching is often about perspective.   I want so much to walk my talk.   So, I'm working on it.

Wishing you what you wish for yourself.
