1: Two Questions
The holidays are upon us. I'm impressed and grateful that you've made time to read this! Thank you. And now I invite you to look beneath the Christmas/Chanukah rush.
I'm wondering what happened to 2009. It really flew by! Perhaps what got me wondering was a question I was asked at a holiday party this past weekend. Here's the question: "What was the best thing you did this year?" All of a sudden, life became a blur. I glazed through my social and community connections, professional doings, personal life changes, self-care actions, heightened spiritual awareness - and all in a minute or less. I gave a quick and obvious answer and then kept thinking about it. I soon realized that this question offers a concise opportunity to reflect and review. So the next day I grabbed the opportunity when I had a few quiet moments and really took stock, making an unlimited list of the "best things I did in 2009".
What a lovely experience - so I'm hoping you too will set aside a few moments to look back on "What was the best thing I did this year?" That's your first question.
Second question? In a year from now, if you posed the same question, what would you like the answer to be? Your answer can focus on just the ultimate dream or the many mini-desires in the various areas of your life. This is such a gentle way of setting goals, and focusing! Clarifying what you want can strongly affect your success in getting it.
If you find yourself resisting as you try to look ahead to 2010, perhaps it's time to try a complimentary 30 minutes with me over the telephone. I can help you!!!! firstname.lastname@example.org or 416-225-3535
2: 72 hours
That's the answer: now, what's the question? Feel like you're playing Jeopardy? You don't get any money for coming up with the correct question but there's a lot on the line! Care to take a stab?
Here's the question: "How long does the average New Year's resolution last?" Can you believe it's just 72 hours?
So sometime around Jan. 4th chronic promise makers and breakers let themselves off the hook and give themselves 361 days until they try again. For many, the reality is that the new diet is done; the exercise routine is ditched; the new sleep patterns are abandoned and so forth.
When it comes to weight and health - that's simply not good enough. I'm not sure what contributes to the "this time will be different" syndrome. More often than not, people need help to change. That is why coaching is so effective and becoming more and more popular.
That non-judgmental support is vital for many individuals to achieve long term change and success.
So I suggest, urge and even beg you - if you -- or someone you know -- wants to make life-altering changes and has a serious yearning for success, please call or email me!

3: A Special Message
The wind down words at my NIA (dance exercise) class today were too special not to pass on. Here's the abridged version. The thoughts came from the very special teacher, Bettina.
We're too often given the message that we're not good enough. From the media and from those around us - from work, from friends, and from family we sometimes get negative vibes. Here are some examples: we don't work long enough hours, or we're not thin enough to please our spouse or mother or friend, or our home isn't big enough or tidy enough, or our children aren't polite enough or our entertaining isn't fancy enough.... you've got the picture.
So as you face the days ahead, please take some time to appreciate your special qualities that definitely, absolutely, unquestionably make you "enough"..........simply because you are.
May your holidays be filled with joy and the new year be filled with good health and happiness.
Wishing you what you wish for yourself.
