Big Question:  How can you create 2013 so that it's even better than 2012?
Great start......  you're already thinking about it.

Call it mindfulness, planning, consciousness, anticipation or give it your own word(s).
Give YOURSELF the gift of time to consider some of the following areas of your life.....  and of course add your own areas:

  • Family
  • Friends
  • Finances
  • Career
  • Health
  • Weight
  • Fun
  • Exercise
  • Purpose
  • Travel
  • other ideas?????
Write down each of your choices on its own piece of paper.  Brainstorm how you want it to be in your future.
Write down one step (can be very tiny) that you can take to create your dreams.  And if you set a date, it's more likely to happen.  Care to share?

Without planning, there's coasting.  You deserve more.  Be the master of your life!

Portion control, portion control, portion control.

Here's an idea (slightly modified) that I heard on the radio.  With the food at holiday time being so available, excessive, rich, decadent, plentiful and even delicious, if there's a particular offering that's yelling your name, give yourself four, slow, pensive bites of it.  By doing this, you'll prevent yourself from feeling deprived, which is the last thing you want to feel if you're trying to control your weight.  There's no negotiating - four bites - carved in stone. And you can carry through the rule for the rest of your life!
