Issue 80

Welcome!
What's in it for you?  A connection, some challenges, a few questions to encourage you to simply reflect about how you currently live your life versus how you want to live your life.  Feel free to share your thoughts with me;  I'd love to hear from you.  This is an invitation to focus on where you'd like to change and grow.

IN THIS ISSUE:

1.  PERSONAL LIFE COACHING:   What do you want? Following up.....

2.  FOOD FOR THOUGHT AND THOUGHTS ON FOOD OR WEIGHT:
If You're Serious....

3.  THOUGHTS FROM MY SWING:   To be late or not to be late: that is the question

1:  What do you want? Following up from December

Many thanks for the great feedback after the December ezine.  So many of you felt ignited by the invitation to acknowledge consciously what you want various aspects of your life to look like in 2012.

In case you haven't done the exercise and would like to do so, it's definitely not too late! And feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

For those who started it.....  keep it rolling!!!  Focus, determination and mindfulness will all contribute to getting you where you wish to be!

And just in case it isn't as easy as you wish, here's an addendum to creating your wish list - another suggestion for helping you get with the program:

Ask yourself "what are the stumbling blocks and greatest challenges and obstacles?" that could get in your way and leave you in a stuck place?  This is not so you can dwell on them but rather so you can be totally aware and prepared to deal with whatever is blocking you!  Once you recognize these challenges, prepare yourself for the antidote.  Some issues are totally resolvable once you take some time to look and analyze them.  Sometimes it helps to discuss issues with a friend, do some journaling or connect with a coach or other professional.  This is really not to be trivialized if you want the control to keep moving forward.

There are definitely forces that alter our lives in unwelcomed directions, but there's so, SO much that you can do to put yourself in the driver's seat and keep you there.

I'm happy to offer a complimentary call to get the engine going!

2:  If You're serious...

...about your health and self image and self esteem and risk for many diseases and all the other benefits of losing extra weight and living life at your healthiest weight, please continue to read this.

There are lots of wonderful ways to lose weight:  Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Dr. Atkins, Dr. Bernstein, Herbal Magic, Gastric Band Surgery and L.A. Weight Loss to name some obvious ones and there are gazillions more.  Yes, I said "wonderful ways to lose weight".  But they all share a tragic flaw; they lack maintenance methods that work.  The more times you lose and gain back, the harder it is for you to climb back on the wagon to try it yet again.

I cannot claim that Weight Loss Coaching is the solution to every Weight Loss challenge.  However, what I can promise, is that the process for losing is directly applicable to the process for staying at your ideal weight.   So, once you reach your ideal weight, the process that got you to that weight will allow you to remain there and live your best life.

It's convenient - all on the telephone.  It's supportive and offers accountability and freedom for whatever is vital to your values and success.  Sounds tempting?

3:  To be late or not to be late: that is the question

I'm fortunate to co-lead a wonderful women's networking group that gathers between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m., has a program from 7:30 until 9:00 and ends promptly at 9, monthly.  That's at 9 sharp - meaning that the formal part of the meeting is all done, complete and ended.  Everyone is welcome to hang around for more opportunities to connect.

I love feedback from our members and learn a lot this way.  But recently I was kindly fed back that I should not be such a stickler on time.  If everyone is enjoying herself, it's no big deal to let the speaker and other various program events extend so that we end after 9.  Was I ever surprized!  I've yet to have the occasion to discuss this with my co-leader but will try to do this with an open mind - not so easy when I thought we were doing a totally non-negotiable and positive thing - allowing members to carry on with their day, at 9:00, unwaveringly.

Applying the thoughts to the rest of my life...  it does bother me when other meetings, exercise classes, get-togethers with friends and various scheduled events are late starting or ending.  But guess what - I confess - I'm mostly on time...  but not always!!!  Double standard?  Maybe.  But not really!  I do value promptness a great deal, but sometimes I let life interfere.

What about you?  Do you mind when others are late?  Are you conscious when you are late?  What are your expectations around scheduled events?  How important is being on time for you? Quick email?  lyndawise@yahoo.com.  I'd love some input from you!

Wishing you what you wish for yourself.
Lynda
